Logo of the Sabo Library
The Sabo Library adopted this logo in June 2012. The design's theme is the accumulation of knowledge related to "sabo" (erosion control) and the broad dissemination of its importance. Using an open book as the main motif, a river flows through the center, and a landslide is placed on the right, the overall design expresses the strength to protect the country from sediment-related disasters. The image color is the traditional Japanese "enji" (deep red). It symbolizes the more than 100-year history of sabo projects and demonstrates the library's determination to become a "center of knowledge" that will build a safe country for future generations.
The Sabo Library celebrated its 30th anniversary on December 3, 2014. To commemorate this milestone, a commemorative publication titled "Welcome to the Sabo Library: 30th Anniversary Publication," which summarizes the library's history and activities since its founding, as well as a guide to the library's facilities after its relocation, was published in September 2015.
